Orange, CA - The University of La Verne football team hit the road to take on the Panthers of Chapman University in Orange, California. The Leopards entered Ernie Chapman Stadium looking to claim their first win of the season.

Chapman would strike first scoring in the first quarter of play. Makena Ramos Kamaka scored the first touchdown of the game for the Leopards off of a three-yard pass from quarterback Miguel Aguero Jr. to cut the Panthers lead to 14-7. Ethan Medeiros scored the Leopards' second touchdown of the game with a little over five minutes left in the second quarter. La Verne would enter halftime trailing Chapman by a score of 42-13.

La Verne would tighten up defensively in the second half, only allowing fourteen points, but would fall to Chapman by a final score of 56-13.
Kyle Bandy led the Leopards in rushing with 43 yards on twelve carries. Jonathon Torres had 79 yards receiving for the Leopards and JJ Rider had 3 tackles in the loss.

The Leopards return home on October 1st for a game against Claremont-M-S. Kickoff is at 1:00 pm.
