Notables

• La Verne and Cal Lutheran boast the two best offenses in the league and are the only two teams in the SCIAC who averaged more than 80 points per game in SCIAC play; the Leopards scored 82.9 points per game while the Kingsmen aveaged 82.8

• Neither La Verne nor Cal Lutheran was picked to make the SCIAC Postseason Tournament in the coaches' preseason poll; the Leopards were voted to finish eighth and the Kingsmen were selected to finsh fifth

• The Leopards are making their first SCIAC Postseason Tournament appearance since 2011

Hakim Arnold was one of only two players to rank in the top-5 in both points per game and rebounds per game in SCIAC play (Andrew Johnson, Occidental); Arnold averaged 18.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game

Kendall McClain has quietly been one of the best playmakers in the conference, posting a 4.1 assist-to-turnover ratio in SCIAC play; in La Verne's win over Cal Lutheran this season, McClain scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, dished out seven assists and commited just one turnover

• The Leopards will need to limit turnovers. In the loss to the Cal Lutheran on Saturday, La Verne gave the ball away 16 times and the Kingsmen converted the extra opportunities into 25 points; in the January win, the Leopards committed just seven turnovers and gave up just 10 points off turnovers

• La Verne has been slightly better shooting and scoring on the road; in home games, the Leopards averaged 82.9 points per game on 45.9 percent shooting (36.4 3PT%) while on the road, they averaged 86.0 points per game on 47.2 percent shooting (37.6 3PT%)

Cal Lutheran Quick Hits

• The Kingsmen are making their seventh SCIAC Postseason Tournament appearance; they are 1-6in SCIAC playoff games

• Cal Lutheran has been the best shooting team in the SCIAC this season; the Kingsmen are shooting 50.7 percent overall and 41 percent from long range, leading the conference in both categories

• Caleb Richey has been the best tablesetter in the SCIAC this season; Richey ran away with the conference assist title with 8.1 helpers per game, nearly five more than the next player

• One of the main beneficiary of Richey's playmaking has been Wolfgang Wood, who is averaging 19.3 points per game while shooting over 50 percent from the field overall and and from behind the 3-point line; Wood is also averaging 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game

• In their four SCIAC losses, the Kingsmen allowed their opponents to shoot 56.2 percent from the field
