PASADENA — Bryan Jimenez of the University of La Verne men's water polo team earned a spot on Second Team All-SCIAC after a outstanding season.
The junior led the Leopards in scoring with 57 goals, 10 of which came at the SCIAC Championship tournament.
Jimenez scored five total goals in early season wins over contenders Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer. He aided the Leopards take the eventual SCIAC runner-up CMS to the brink with four goals in the first game of the SCIAC Championship and netted six goals in the final three games to help the Leopards leapfrog Pomona-Pitzer in the final standings.
Goran Mataic of Whittier was named the 2014 SCIAC Athlete of the Year while Massimilliano Mirarchi, also from Whittier, collected the Newcomer of the Year award.
Greg Lonzo of CMS was named the Coach of the Year.
