PASADENA — Ian Hernandez and Bryan Jimenez of the University of La Verne men's water polo team were named to the 2015 Second Team All-SCIAC as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
This is Jimenez's second selection to the all-conference team. The senior led the Leopards in scoring with 49 goals, six of which came at the SCIAC Championship tournament. He scored 21 goals in SCIAC action.
Ian Hernandez, a freshman goalkeeper, played some of his best water polo in the SCIAC Championship, helping La Verne to a 2-2 stretch while making a total of 42 saves.
Jimenez was also named to the SCIAC Sportsmanship Team.
Tanner Cullen of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was named the 2015 SCIAC Athlete of the Year and Adam Ward of Pomona-Pitzer collected the Newcomer of the Year award.
The Stags' Greg Lonzo and his assistants were named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
