BRIDGEPORT, PA — The University of La Verne men's water polo team placed an incredible 10 athletes on the 2019 ACWPC Men's All-Academic recognition list the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a grade point average in excess of 3.20. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average, 137 athletes garnered Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 171 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 142 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition from 48 teams.

The Leopards also earned team recognition for finishing with a grade point average of 3.10. Teams must post a team GPA of at least 3.0 to be honored.

Dario Mariani, Ryan Lehotsky, Cristian Gonzalez, and Charles Lewandowski picked up Outstanding recognition. Jason Soo Hoo and Joey Sabers earned Superior honors and Mason Fox, Gage Unsoeld, Vasil Halchev, and Charles Ortega achieved Excellent distinction.

A total of 35 teams and 450 athletes earned ACWPC academic recognition for their classroom achievements.
