Knobloch, Yip, Hanna lead Leopards on day three of SCIAC Championships

COMMERCE, Calif. — Kirsten Knoblach, Kayla Yip, and Mary Hanna each made individual appearances in the consolation finals as the University of La Verne swimming and diving teams closed out day three of the SCIAC Swimming and Diving Championships. 

Knoblach made the consolation finals of the women's 400 yard individual medley after posting a 4:55.96 in the prelims. The junior capped off the day with a 4:55.80 seventh place finish in her heat.

In the women's 100 yard butterfly, Yip posted a 59.19 in the prelims of the event and improved in the evening, finishing sixth in the consolation final with a time of 58.59.

Hanna made her second consolation finals appearance of the week. The senior finished sixth in her heat touching at 59.97.

The men's 400 medley relay team took ninth with Lorenzo DeLeon, Guillermo Yanes, CJ Woodward, and Kristofer Grigorian finishing with a time of 3:36.07.

On the women's side, Hanna, Rachel Fox, Yip, and Rachel Miyoga took ninth in the 400 medley relay at 4:06.79.

The Leopards conclude the 2018 SCIAC Championships tomorrow.
