CHINO HILLS, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's golf team wrapped up the season with a solid showing at the 2018 SCIAC Championships, hosted by Chapman University, on April 22-24 at Los Serranos Golf Club.
Kirsten Contreras led the Leopards with an overall score of 250. The senior opened the tournament with an 86 and shot her best round of the tournament on day two with an 81. She carded an 83 on day three.
Freshman Alexi Gonzalez showed steady improvement each round of the SCIAC Championships. After opening with a 94, she improved by four strokes on the second round and finished the tournament with an 89 in the final round of competition.
Morgan Malloy was steady throughout the tournament. The senior shot a 93 in each of the first two rounds and carded a 94 to end the tournament.
Gonzalez will return next year with a slate of new Leopards.
