CANTON, N.Y. — Tiahna Gillon of the University of La Verne women's track and field team finished eighth in the 100 meter dash at the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Merrick-Pinkard Track and Field Complex to earn her first All-America honor.
Gillon crossed the finish line in 12.15 seconds to claim the eighth and final All-America award in the 100 meters.
Gillon went into the championship meet ranked 14th out 22 invitees in the 100 meters but ran a 12.28 in a cold and windy condition in the Friday preliminary to earn the last spot in the championship final.
Nick Gonsalves finished 13th in the men's 100 meters. The 2014 4x100m relay champion missed the championship final cut by less than two hundredth of a second after finishing the preliminary in 10.964 seconds. Only .018 seconds separated Gonsalves and the final qualifier.
