FLAGSTAFF — The La Verne Track team travelled to Flagstaff over the weekend to take on schools at Northern Arizona University.
The Leos saw a plethora of career highs and a general multitude of success throughout the weekend.
Some stats from the weekend included a 1.98 meter high jump from Zackery Deering-Haddix. He placed second in the high jump and ranks first in the NCAA DIII west region and top-30 in the nation for high jump.
Zachary Reid placed fifth in the 60m high hurdles. He also ranks first in the west region for high hurdles and is a La Verne record holder in that event.
The distance runners had a solid weekend as well with TK Berhe winning the mile and Jared Albaugh and Janelle Baskens winning the 800 meter.
And finally with her performance in the 60 meter hurdles, Mira Juncaj is now a top-10 Leo record holder in that event.
"These, combined with several Personal bests, gave us a solid day on the track at 7,000' in altitude," said Track and Field head coach Kevin Reid.
Next week a small group of Track athletes heads to Spokane, WA for the Whitworth Invitational.
