La Verne, CA — After a double by pinch-hitter Nate Perry with one out in the ninth, shortstop Anthony Salcedo threaded the first base line with a single to walk off Webster University 4-3.

The Leopards' bullpen kept La Verne in the ballgame. Austin Klopfenstein started, allowing two runs in four innings before handing the ball off to Chase Pederson. Pederson piggy-backed for another four innings, surrendering an unearned run but punching out five. Ian Wong collected his first collegiate win with a scoreless ninth.

La Verne scored four runs on eight hits; Logan Reese and Chase Siffert both leading the way with an extra base hit and a single. Reese hit a leadoff triple in the second and was driven home on a Siffert double deep into left field. Cameron Slessor and Malachi Francois also had an RBI.

Now with double digits in the win column, the Leopards look to bounce back in the remainder of the series against Endicott College Saturday. La Verne lost game one 5-3 on Mar. 16, but will start their doubleheader against the Gulls at 11 a.m. at Ben Hines Field.
