Leopards Split With Endicott

La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne baseball team took the diamond for a doubleheader against Endicott College today at Ben Hines Field.

The Leopards were playing their second and third games of the series as they had already taken on Endicott on Thursday at Ben Hines Field.

La Verne started the first game of the doubleheader with hot bats, as they would score 4 runs in the opening inning, while not allowing Endicott to score. Logan Reese and Aiden Salcedo would both triple in the opening inning to bring Leopards across home plate. Cam Slessor, Logan Reese, Anthony Salcedo and Noah Garcia would all score runs for the Leopards. Logan Reese would hit a home run in the 5th inning to add to the Leopards' onslaught as he would be 3-4 at the plate in the opening game. 

On the mound, pitcher Gerald Terry would dominate the game, throwing 15 strikeouts in 6 innings of work, totally controlling the game for the Leopards' outfield.  Benny Vogel would throw 4 strikeouts in the final 3 innings of play, as La Verne would finish the first game with a victory by a score of 10-5. Noah Garcia and Logan Reese would each have 3 RBIs in the victory.

The Leopards would only manage 5 hits in the second game of the doubleheader, as they would fall to Endicott 11-0.

La Verne returns back to action Monday at home against Middlebury.
