LA VERNE, CA - Three University of La Verne baseball team members earned 2023 All-Region honors on Tuesday, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) - Gerald Terry, Benny Vogel, and Noah Garcia.
Gerald Terry was selected All-Region First Team, posting incredible numbers that also earned him the coveted title of 2023 Regional Pitcher of the Year. Terry had an 11-5 record with an astounding 2.50 ERA this season. He pitched 101.1 innings and averaged 11.05 strikeouts per game, with 124 strikeouts on the year.
As the team's utility player, Benny Vogel played an instrumental role in the Leopard's successful run this season, earning starting time in several positions on the field. Vogel was selected to the All-Region Second team with an impressive .327 batting average, 16 runs batted in for La Verne, pitched an average of 8.04 strikeouts per game, and a 2.20 ERA in SCIAC conference.
Lefty first baseman Noah Garcia rounded out the Leopard nominations by earning All-Region Third Team after an impressive year with 41 RBIs, three home runs, 360 putouts, and 26 double plays.
