LA VERNE — The La Verne Leopards lost a tight 75-70 battle against the Redlands Bulldogs on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at The Tents.

With 2:48 remaining in the game, the Leos trailed 69-65. Redlands had just gone on an 11-0 run and looked to be pulling away. Brian Adams brought the ball up the court and handed off a pass to Paul Antonis who knocked down a tough three-pointer that signaled a potential Leo momentum shift, bringing the score to 69-68. It was Antonis' 22nd point of the game and Adams's 12th assist.

But Redlands followed with a layup and a timeout and were able to maintain control to finish out the game.

Antonis and fellow junior Seth Shaw led the Leos in scoring with 22 and 20 points apiece. Shaw added yet another double-double to his ledger, his fifth on the season.

Adams also had a standout performance for the Leos. The guard finished with 12 assists and nine rebounds.

With the loss the Leos fall to 2-11 and 0-4 in SCIAC play. Redlands moves to 7-5 and 3-2.

The Leos will look to bounce back Saturday when they travel to Pomona-Pitzer to take on the Sagehens.
