Men's Golf Opens Spring with Second Place Finish

BEAUMONT, CA — The University of La Verne men's golf team opened the spring in impressive fashion with a second-place finish at the Tukwet Preview.

The Leopards got a glimpse of the conference competition, teeing off against a field entirely of SCIAC teams.

Freshman newcomers Zane Mularski led the La Verne "A' team and Michael Ordona paced the La Verne "B" squad as the duo tied four fourth place with a score of four-over 76.

Sophomore Connor Dunlop and junior Jake Littlejohn tied for sixth place with a five-over 77. All-West Region returner Pitiluk Phanomchai carded a six-over 78 to tie for 10th.

Nathan Stepanski (eight-over 80) and Aaron Yoo (nine-over 81) each added top-20 finishes, placing 16th and 19th respectively.

The Leopards finished with a team score of 308. The La Verne "B" squad took fourth with a total card of 325.

No. 16 Redlands, led by individual winner Jake Hollander, won the tournament with a score of 303.

Next Round

The Leopards are back in action on February 24-25 when they compete in the Cal Baptist Joust in Mira Loma, CA.
