THOUSAND OAKS, CA — The University of La Verne Leopards took the Cal Lutheran University Kingsmen to double overtime, but were unable to come away with a win. After taking the lead in the 66th minute, La Verne conceded a late goal to Cal Lu in the 87th minute and did not retake the lead.

The Leo goalkeepers gave a valiant effort in the game as Logan Reese and Kevan Rehmani combined to keep the Kingsmen scoreless for 45 minutes. Brandon Castro saw the most action in terms of game time and shots on goal. Castro was in goal for a little over 62 minutes where he made seven saves.

James Coe put the Leos in the driver's seat with his unassisted goal 21 minutes into the second half. It was one of only five shots and the only shot on goal for the Leos as their offense was stifled by the Kingsmen's defense.

Igor Lumbrano buried the game-winner for Cal Lu in the 107th minute off of a penalty kick.

La Verne has another away game on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. against the University of Redlands.
