LA VERNE, CA — The University of La Verne women's soccer team's defense held tight against the high scoring Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens.
But the Leopards let one goal slip past and couldn't find the back of the net themselves, falling 1-0 Wednesday night.
Jasmine Valadez picked up two saves in the game.
The Leopards got some urgency late in the game, attacking the Sagehens' box. But La Verne had trouble getting off shots, finishing with just three in the match with two of them coming on goal.
