Lee Kim, Portillo record personal records at Rossi Relays

CLAREMONT, Calif. — The La Verne women's track and field team notched several personal marks at Rossi Relays, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, on Saturday at Zinda Field.

Catalina Lee Kim set a new personal record in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.33 seconds and finished sixth overall. Jessica Portillo finished 10th in the 400m hurdles with her new record time of 1:11.34.

Lee Kim added a sixth place finish in the long jump at 4.79m (15-08.75). Teammate Dreama Gonzales finished just ahead of her with a leap of 4.86m (15-11.50).

Carmen Sandoval finished fifith overall in the 400m hurdles, crossing the finishline at 1:08.42.

Jasmine Williams, who started throwing the hammer this season, recorded a personal best throw of 30.28m (99-04).

Ebony Turner finished eighth overall in the high jump with clearance of 1.52m (4-11.75).

Melissa Cerrillos, a distance specialist, ran the 3000m for the first time and finished 16th overall with a tie of 10:36.50.

Tiahna Gillon placed 14th in the 100m with a time of 12.75.

The Leopards host the first SCIAC Multi-Dual meet of the season this Saturday at Ortmayer Stadium.
