Women's Water Polo lands 10 on ACWPC Academic All-America

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of La Verne women's water polo team placed a record-tying 10 student-athletes to the 2016 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Women's All-Academic Team.

All-Academic Awards are given annually by the ACWPC to collegiate water polo players who have demonstrated remarkable performance in the classroom and the pool. Student-athletes are recognized for Oustanding Achievement with a grade point of average of 4.00-3.71, Superior Acheivement (3.70-3.41) and Excellent Acheivement (3.40-3.20).

Gabriela Biedebach earned the award for Outstanding Achievement.

Guarina Garcia and Victoria Mezack earned Superior honors. Excellent Achievement Awards went to Cambria Serrano, Candice Vorbeck, Jasmine Bustamante, Samantha Murilllo, Megan Little, Catie Tuning and Lauren Lancaster.

"I am very proud of our student-athletes and their achievements," La Verne head coach William Rodriguez said. "We pride ourselves on our work in and out of the pool and I'm extremely happy to see our efforts paying off."
