LA VERNE, CA — Raymond Mornonez has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week the website announced Tuesday.

Mornoez picked off No. 13 Chapman three times and added four tackles against the SCIAC Champions. The junior ended the season with back-to-back SCIAC Football Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. His six interceptions rank second in the conference and tie for the sixth-most in NCAA DIII.

The Glendora native gabbed all six of his interceptions in the final three games of the season.

Moronez is the second Leopard to earn D3football.com Team of the Week honors. Torii Hilbert picked up the recognition earlier this season when he finished with one interception, 10 tackles, and a pass breakup in a 20-17 overtime win against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
