LA VERNE, CA — Subdue Ezinwa and Alyssa Galaviz have been named SCIAC Athletes of the Week the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday.

Ezinwa picks up SCIAC Male Field Athlete of the Week honors for the third straight week. Ezinwa ended his 2021 campaign with a pair of wins and personal records at the Redlands Final Qualifier. The SCIAC Champion in the discus posted a personal record in the discus with a winning throw of 42.99m (141'0") on day one of the meet. He followed it up the next day with another personal best this time in the shot put with a heave of 13.19m (43' 3¼") to win the event.

Galaviz earned SCIAC Female Field Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career after setting a pair of personal records in her final meet of the season. On day one of the meet, she finished with a personal best in the discus with a throw of 21.99m (72'1"). The next day she broke her own record in the shot put with a throw of 9.34m (30' 7¾").
