CLAREMONT, CA — Matthew Salas earned All-West Region honors as he and teammate Alexander Medina represented the La Verne men's cross country team at the 2019 NCAA West Regionals held at Pomona College.
It is the first time the junior has earned All-Region accolades. Salas finished 21st overall with a time of 26:15.6, just over a second faster than his time on the course two weeks ago at the SCIAC Championships.
Medina finished 50th overall with a time of 27:28.6.
Salas has a chance to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships held next week in Kentucky but will have to wait until tomorrow to see if his time merits a selection.
