ULV Finished Strong Against CLU & CMS

THOUSAND Oaks, CA- The University of La Verne's swim and dive team traveled to Cal Lutheran University to race against the conference rivals Cal Lutheran and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. La Verne showed out to place three Leopards on the podium as top finishers of their events.

Mahayla Reyes, the Freshman distance swimmer for La Verne stayed in her element and started off the individual events for the day with her 1000 Yard Freestyle. Averaging a 36-second 50-yd split, she placed fourth overall.

Leopard, Asher Kocalis, started off his 200 Yard Butterfly splitting 27.00 off the block to place third overall (1:57.62). Kocalis continued his events with the Men's 400 Yard Individual Medley. The Junior swimmer placed 2nd overall with a final time of 4:19.15.

Cody Lehotsky had a great swim in the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle, placing 6th overall, breaking right under 49.00, with a 48.92.

Kira Degelsmith and Shaun Concepcion also competed in the dive segment of the meet. Both divers competed in the 1mtr and 3 mtr events.

The Swim and Dive team heads to Caltech for a dual meet on Saturday, February 4th at 11:00 AM PST.
