La Verne women's basketball standout Megan Musashi was named Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Female Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after a career-high scoring effort in the Leopards' lone contest last week.

A junior from Glendale, Musashi posted a career-high 28 points as she paced the Leopards to a 114-109 overtime triumph over visiting Trinity (Tex.) on December 15.

Musashi connected on five three-pointers against the Tigers while finishing 7-8 from the free throw line as the Leopards reached the century mark for the second consecutive game. 

Currently she is averaging 10.0 points per game on the season while connecting on 78.6% of her free throw attempts and 53.8% of her three-point field goal attempts.

Last season, Musashi was among the SCIAC leaders in scoring, free throw percentage and three-point field goal percentage en route to a Second Team All-SCIAC selection as a sophomore.
