ORANGE, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's basketball team outplayed Chapman in nearly all aspects of the game but committed too many turnovers in a 84-68 loss on Thursday night at Hutton Sports Center.

La Verne falls to 3-15 overall and 2-8 in SCIAC play. Chapman improves to 14-6 and 9-2.

The Leopards outshot the Panthers, 51 percent to 44, held a plus-10 advantage on the glass and made four more 3-pointers.

The trend continued the rest of the game. The Leopards committed five more turnovers and and the Panthers grabbed five offensive rebounds, which led to Chapman getting 13 more shots than La Verne in the second quarter. La Verne continued to shoot well in the second half and maintained a decided advantage on the boards, but just could not take care the ball.

Faye Osburn registered the first double-double of her career, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Shannon Irwin had a team-high 17 points and six assists, and Emily Myers hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds.
