REDLANDS, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's soccer team battled late on the road, but a first half goal by the Redlands Bulldogs was all the scoring needed to defeat the Leopards 1-0 Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs controlled the tempo for most of the first half, outshooting the Leopards 9-2 in the period.
Redlands scored the only goal of the game in the 14th minute when Adi Fellows finished off a cross into the box.
Hanien Samara got the start in the box for La Verne, finishing with six saves.
Andrea Story and Amanda Silveira each took two shots for the Leopards. La Verne was more aggressive on the attack in the second half, outshooting the Bulldogs in the period.
The Leopards had a couple chances late, but they couldn't find the back of the net.
Season Impact: The Leopards move to 6-2-2 overall and 2-2-2 in SCIAC play. Redlands improves to 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the SCIAC
Next Game: The Leopards return home on Wednesday, October 4 to take on the Chapman Panthers at 7 p.m.
