"These two are very deserving of this honor," said Head Coach Lauryn Pehanich. "They played tremendously this year, having Jessica in the front and Alina in the back really helped anchor our team."

Both Hernandez and Cobian earned First Team All-SCIAC recognition earlier this year.

Hernandez had the best year of her career during her senior season. The forward notched career high in points (18), goals (8), and assists (2). The Chino Hills native finished with three game-winning goals, including two in the first three games of the season and another off an assist from Cobian against Pomona-Pitzer. Hernandez earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors after her overtime game-winners against St. Catherine and UC Santa Cruz.

Cobian, a defender from Covina, helped the Leopards' defense record five shutouts during the season. Cobian also made an impact for La Verne off set plays, twice heading in goals off corner kicks including the game-winner over Whittier. The sophomore was twice named SCIAC Athlete of the week during the season, once for her game-winner against the Poets, and another after scoring against Occidental and notching an assist in a 1-0 win over the Sagehens.

The Leopards finished with their best record in four seasons, ending 9-10-1 overall and 6-7-1 in SCIAC play.
