Despite a sudden change in venue, the University of La Verne women's swimming and diving team managed a solid outing at the tri-meet with Azusa Pacific and Biola at home.
Originally scheduled as a home meet for Azusa Pacific, the site was changed to La Verne Aquatic Center because of a fire at the Cougars’ home pool late in the week.
The highest Leopard finisher was senior Amanda McCadden, who placed second overall in the 3 meter divnig event with a score of 178.45. McCadden also placed fourth in the 1 meter diving competition.
Bethie Ross and Erin Morten each placed third in their respective individual events. Freshman Ross finished third in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:26.39 while Morten, a junior, was a third-place finisher in the 200 butterfly in 2:31.67.
In other action, freshman Shelby Broyles earned a fourth-place effort in the 1650 freestyle event, completing her race in 20:19.59.
