The University of La Verne women's swimming and diving team opened its 2010-11 season at the Malibu Invitational on Saturday, and was paced by the efforts of senior Tiffany Martin, who enjoyed Top 10 finishes in three individual events.
Martin placed fifth overall in the women's 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.71. She also placed ninth in both the 50 butterfly (27.69) and 200 butterfly events (2:14.39) against competition from Division I, II, III and NAIA levels.
A trio of Leopards placed among the Top 12 in the women's 1-meter diving event. Senior Amanda McCadden finished ninth overall (159.50), while teammates Tori Moreno and Jaimi Law placed 11th (131.95) and 12th (111.50), respectively.
