NEW ORLEANS — Eleven Leopards earned NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field All-Region the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced.
The top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction in addition to each of the top-three relay teams in each region.
Catalina Lee Kim led the La Verne women's squad with three All-Region honors for her performances in the 60 meter hurdles, long jump, and triple jump. Her distance of 17-11.05 in the long jump ranks first in the region. Her time of 8.94 in the 60 meter hurdles ranks her 20th in the nation.
On the men's side, Joshua Francis also earned three All-Region honors. Individually Francis ranked second in the 400 meters and third in the 200 meters. He also ran a leg of the Leopards 4x400 relay team that finished as the top-ranked team in the West Region with a time of 3:24.49.
Andrew Carrasco also earned top marks in the region in his event finishing with a mark in the weight throw of 54-1.25.
A total of 772 honors were handed out to men's athletes, while 781 awards were bestowed to athletes from women's programs.
