GENEVA, OH — Elizabeth Prevedello ended day one of the heptathlon in ninth place, and Melissa Cerrillos and Jade Griffin wrapped up their respective competitions at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.
Prevedello finished the day with 2774 points after completing the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200m dash. The junior finished eighth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.00, seventh in the high jump at a height of 5-01.75, 22nd in the shot put with a distance at 28-06.50, and fifth in the 200m dash at 26.13. Sylviann Momont of Wisconsin Stevens Point leads the competition with 3085 points.
Prevedello continues the heptathlon tomorrow with the long jump at 8:30 a.m., javelin at 10 a.m., and 800m at 11:45 a.m. (Pacific times listed).
Griffin wrapped her first NCAA Championships with an 18th place finish in the 200m dash, clocking in at 25.64 seconds.
Cerrillos concluded her Leopard career with an 18th place finish in the 3000m steeplechase, coming in at 11:25.39. The 2019 Scafani winner leaves La Verne with two SCIAC Championships, nine All-Region awards, nine All-SCIAC honors, two NCAA Championships appearances in track, and was just the third woman in La Verne history to qualify for the NCAA Championships in cross country. Cerrillos walks away with program records in the 800m and 3000m steeplechase.
