NEW ORLEANS — Melissa Cerrillos, Rachael Dela Cruz, Micaela Krumweide and Elizabeth Prevedello have been tabbed United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic recipients the USTFCCCA announced.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship, finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event, or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List. A total of 631 women earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2018-19 track and field seasons.

Cerrillos earns the distinction after qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 3000m steeplechase for the second time in her career. Cerrillos concluded her Leopard career with an 18th place finish in the race. The 2019 Scafani winner leaves La Verne with two SCIAC Championships, numerous All-Region and All-SCIAC honors, and program records in the 800m run and 3000m steeplechase. She was just the third woman in La Verne history to qualify for the NCAA Championships in cross country.

Dela Cruz earned All-Academic honors for her top-50 performance in the steeplechase and incredible work in the classroom. The 2019 SCIAC Champion in the steeplechase earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the 2018 fall semester with a near-perfect 3.98 cumulative GPA, and earned several All-SCIAC honors and All-Region awards during her career. At the 2019 Senior Blanket Awards, Dela Cruz picked up the La Verne Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.

Krumweide boasted the best season of her career on the track. She finished in the top-50 nationally in the triple jump, earned All-SCIAC and All-Region honors in the triple jump, and also earned indoor All-Region accolades in the event. Krumweide was named one of the 2019 La Verne Strength Athletes of the Year.

Prevedello adds another accolade to her incredible debut season for the Leopards. The graduate student picked up All-American honors after finishing sixth in the heptathlon at the 2019 NCAA DIII Track and Field Championships and setting the new La Verne record in the process with 4,664 points. Prevedello is the first Leopard to earn All-American honors in the heptathlon.
