LA VERNE, CA — Ilene Guerrero and Nancy Trinh each scored three goals and the game was never in question as the University of La Verne women's water polo rolled to a 17-4 win over Chapman.

Season Impact

The Leopards improve to 10-5 overall and 2-0 in SCIAC play. The Panthers fall to 0-13 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

La Verne dominated all game, jumping out to a 7-2 halftime lead. The Leopards look even better in the second half outscoring the Panthers 10-2 during the stretch.

Guerrero scored her three goals off just four shot attempts. Trinh added two steals and two assists to her three goals. Jassmine Kezman dished out a game-high four assists and led all players with three steals go to with a pair of goals.

Twos were wild for freshman Nanea Mattson who finished with two goals, two assists, and two steals. Candice Vorbeck added an outstanding all-around game, scoring twice, dealing a pair of assists, and finishing with a steal.

Sage Nowell added two goals and an assist, Ashley Garcia and Alicia Thompson each scored once.
