LA VERNE, CA — Evan Gustafson and Tevin McClain each dropped 16 points but the University of La Verne men's basketball team couldn't slow Oberlin's hot three-point shooting, falling to the Yeomen 96-70 Friday night.
The Leopards stayed on pace with Oberlin in the second half, scoring 41 points to the Yeomen's 48. McClain scored 14 of his points during the period off 6-6 shooting.
It was just Oberlin's day from behind the arc, shooting 63 percent from three-point range.
Justin Tibbs scored 11 points in his Leopards debut, eight in the second half. Sophomore Jordan Allen added eight points.
Andre Campbell led Oberlin with 20 points.
Next Game
The Leopards hit the road next week and take on the Linfield Wildcats on Tuesday, November 14 at 3 p.m.
