Men's Basketball closes out season at Redlands

REDLANDS — Seniors Evan Gustafson and Alec Vucinich closed out their time as Leopards with career highs as the University of La Verne men's basketball team closed out the 2018-19 season at Redlands.

Gustafson added the best scoring performance of his career, dropping 20 points on the Bulldogs. The Rocklin, CA native had an efficient night on the floor, shooting 7-11 in his final night in the orange and green. Gustafson also grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists, and added one steal.

Gustafson ends his career as the La Verne leader in field goal percentage breaking a record set by John Jackson (1989-1991). Gustafson finishes his career 272-473 from the floor, setting the new record at .575.

Alec Vucinich had the best rebounding performance of his career. The senior totaled 18 rebounds, 16 of the boards coming on the defensive end. The Scotts Valley, CA native nearly added a double-double scoring nine points in the effort to go with two steals, two blocks, and one assist.

Jordan Allen added nine points, Tevin McClain scored seven points and Max Karim scored six points. Luke Edwards added a three-pointer.

The Bulldogs beat the Leopards 72-56 led by David Menary's 29 points.
