CLAREMONT, CA — The University of La Verne men's soccer team fell behind 2-0 in the first half of their SCIAC opener against the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags and couldn't recover, falling 3-0 Wednesday night.
Season Impact
The Leopards suffer their first loss of the season, dropping to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in SCIAC play. The Stags remain undefeated, improving to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
La Verne had their chances, rattling off 11 shots in the match, but just three came on goal.
Tristan Polakowski grabbed five saves in the game.
William Birchard led the Stags with two goals.

La Verne next plays their SCIAC home opener on Saturday, September 8 at 11 a.m. against Pomona-Pitzer.
