ORANGE, CA — The University of La Verne men's soccer team got off some quality chances Wednesday night at Chapman but couldn't find the back of the net.
The Panthers were able to net two goals in a minute and a half span to take the 2-0 win.
Season Impact
The Leopards fall to 7-9 overall and 5-9 in SCIAC play. Chapman improves to 9-7 overall and 7-6 in the SCIAC.
Tristan Polakowski stepped in front of the net in the second half grabbing five saves. Rene Gonzalez got the start finishing with one save.
Tyler Avila had the Leopards' first chance in the second half. In the 55th minute the forward let off a hard shot that was saved but he was quick on the rebound, sending another shot that got blocked.
La Verne's last best chance game in the 87th minute when Johnny DeRueda led off one last shot. But Chapman goalie Chandler Siemonsma stepped in front for the save.
Next Game
The Leopards play their season finale on Saturday when they travel north to play UC Santa Cruz at 3 p.m.
