LA VERNE, CA — Freshman Darious Adbollahi scored in the waning minutes of the University of La Verne men's soccer team's game at Whittier College, but the Leopards couldn't overcome a four-goal hole, falling to the Pirates 4-1.
Tristan Polakowski stepped in front of the net late in the first half, recording three saves.
Matteo Loi gave the Poets the lead early in the match, scoring on a cross in the eighth minute.
