LOS ANGELES – Five La Verne athletes competed against some of the best collegiate and professional athletes at the Oxy Distance Carnival and Sprints Festival, hosted by the Occidental College.

Michael Ramirez started the Leos off in the 800 meter dash and took 2^nd in his heat and placed 52^nd place overall. He finished with a time of 2:02.74.

Jahi Gaines ran a time of 4:07.94 in the 1500 meters, taking 2^nd in his heat and 37^th overall.

Brian Hayes, Tanner Long, and Jayden Earlywine all competed in the 5000-meter run. Hayes took 2^nd in his heat and 29^th overall, finishing the race in 15.10.71. Long also took 2^nd in his heat and finished 52^nd over all with a time of 15:29.17. Earlywine clocked a 15.44.50 for a 2^nd place finish in his heat and an overall finish of 72^nd place.

The Leopards return to action on Saturday, March 29 at the Ortmayer Stadium when they host the second SCIAC Quad Meet.
