The Matt Rogers Era is officially underway as the University of La Verne women's basketball squad prepares for the 2010-11 season.
The Leopard schedule includes a total of 14 home games highlighted by three contests against Northwest Conference schools and a pair of games against UC Santa Cruz.
La Verne begins the regular season at home on Sunday, November 21 against Linfield from the Northwest Conference. The Leopards will host two other NWC schools in back-to-back games as they face Whitworth (Dec. 11) followed by Pacific (Dec. 21).
UC Santa Cruz appears twice on the Leopard schedule. The first meeting will take place on December 3 in Santa Cruz before the Banana Slugs head south to face the Leos on January 2 at Frantz Athletic Court.
The Leopards will play two games at the Cal Lutheran Thanksgiving Classic on November 26-27, taking on DePauw and Elmhurst on consecutive days.
Rogers, who previously served as men's basketball coach at Maryville University in St. Louis, Mo., will face the Maryville women's team on December 29 in La Verne's final game of the 2010 calendar year.
The Leopards will also renew acquaintances with Chapman University on February 1 at Frantz Athletic Court.
La Verne will open SCIAC action on January 8 when the Leos host Whittier College.
