Trio of Leopards Earn All-Conference honors

The University of La Verne volleyball squad was represented by three players on the 2012 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Setter Kendall Kraiss and outside hitter Randi Taylor-Toomay were named First Team All-SCIAC while middle blocker Kayla Cribbs earned a Second Team selection.

A senior from Huntington Beach, Kraiss garners her third All-Conference selection of her career after a pair of Second Team honors in 2010 and 2011.  In conference matches, Kraiss collected 497 assists, an average of 8.88 per set with 66 kills and 141 digs.

Taylor-Toomay enjoyed her most productive season en route to her first All-SCIAC selection.  The senior from Glendora totaled a team-high 244 kills in league play for an average of 4.36 per set to rank among the conference leaders.

Cribbs also earned her first All-SCIAC nod after leading the conference in blocks with 68 in league matches, an average of 1.24 per set.  A senior from Sutter Creek, Cribbs was also among the league leaders in hitting percentage at .328 in conference play.

The Leopards finished the regular season with a 21-4 overall record and a 13-3 mark in conference play.
