Leopards Compete In Challenge Meet

Claremont, CA - The University of La Verne Track and Field Team traveled to Claremont Mudd Scripps for the Challenge Meet.

The Leopards entered the meet looking to get ready for the start of the indoor track season. The Leopards took part in a total of 6 events on the day. Jared Albaugh dominated his event for the mile run. His final time was 4:31.39, placing first and getting La Verne ten points toward the final score. Andres Flores-Marquez also helped the Leopards by placing in the same event for a final time of 4:45.60, adding 3 points to the team totals. The Leopards ended the day with a score of 7 points for the women and 16 for the men. Head coach Kevin Reid understood the importance of this meet as a gauge for his athletes. "It was a good measuring stick of how our training has been going. The results gave us a good idea of what we can expect indoors the next couple of weeks at NAU, Boston and Spokane."

The Leopard's next meet will be the NAU Ron Mann Classic (Flagstaff, AZ) Friday, February 3rd.
