Leopards Excel At SCIAC #1

Leopards Excel At SCIAC #1
Claremont, CA - The University of La Verne men's and women's track and field team squad competed in SCIAC #1 held at Pomona Pitzer University in Claremont, California.

Entering the event with multiple award winners from the previous week's performances at Mt. Sac, the Leopards competed at a high level on both sides of the track. The women's team had 10 personal bests and 7 seasonal best set while the men had 21 personal bests and 11 seasonal best set across the board. The continuous hard work and preparation is evident in the performances on the day, as La Verne continues to make a run at a SCIAC Championship. Head coach Kevin Reid was very pleased with his teams' performance and the strides they are making as the season moves forward. "After traveling around the country at indoor competitions, it was good to stay close to home and get back on an outdoor track.  The Leo's had several outstanding performances, and many more consistent performances that trend positively moving forward into the upcoming season."

The Leopards will return back to action next weekend, as they will send a small group to the Occidental Distance Carnival next Saturday, March 11th. Sprinters, throwers, and jumpers will not be in action until March 17th at the Redlands Invitational.
