GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Aaron DiGiamarino totaled the lowest score for the Leopards as the University of La Verne men's golf team finished in 19th place with a total score of 912 at the Western New Mexico Fall Desert Intercollegiate Tournament.

At the end of the first round, the Leopards finished tied for 10th place shooting a combined 289 with DiGiamarino shooting the best single round for the La Verne all weekend at 3-under 69, placing him tied for 10th individually.

"Through most of the first round we showed how good we can be this season having the tournament lead for a moment and reaching and 8-under in the first round," said Head Coach Eric Riehle.

In the second round, the Leopards were led by Pitiluk Phanomchai who shot a one-over 73. But the Leopards dropped eight spots, shooting 310 in the round.

The Leopards shot 313 in the final round of the tournament.

"The overall finish is not up to our standards and the offseason will be spent focusing on internal reflection in finding ways to become mentally tougher," said Riehle. "But we've got a great group of Leos this year so I'm excited to see what we can do in the spring."

DiGiamarino tied for 46th individually (223) with Phanomchai finishing tied for 60th (225).

Hisham Hussein shot 231 to tie for 79th. He was followed by Conner Davis (235) and Jason Brown (238).

Next Round: The Leopards will break until February 5 when they compete at the CSU San Marcos Fujikura Invitational.
