Hussein, Phanomchai, Davis earn GCAA honors

NORMAN, Okla. – Hisham Hussein, Pitiluk Phanomchai, and Conner Davis earned regional and national accolades the Golf Coaches Association of America announced.

Hussein, a junior from San Dimas, was named to the Division III PING All-West Region team. Hussein continues to rack up awards for his outstanding 2017-18 season. He was already named Lee Fulmer SCIAC Athlete of the Year and First team All-SCIAC. This is Hussein's first All-Region selection. A total of 100 players across six regions - Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Great Lakes, Central, and West - earned all-region honors for 2018.

GCAA PING All-Region Release

Phanomchai was named to the 2018 Division III All-Freshman team. The freshman from Thailand could not have asked for a better start to his collegiate career. Phanomchai was named the Ken Sherman SCIAC Newcomer of the Year earlier this month and also earned First Team All-SCIAC recognition. Members of the All-Freshmen Team are eligible for the Phil Mickelson Award as the most outstanding freshman in Division III men's golf. The Mickelson Award will be presented Friday, May 18 following the final round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships.

GCAA DIII All-Freshman Team Release

Davis was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar after posting a 3.63 cumulative grade point average. To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

GCAA All-America Scholars Release

The Leopards closed out day one of the NCAA Championships yesterday and continue action today in Greensboro, North Carolina. Fans can follow live scoring here.
