LA VERNE, Calif. — The University of La Verne men's golf team is ranked No. 15 in the latest Golfstat NCAA Division III rankings.
The move comes after the Leopards finished ahead of five top-25 teams at the West Cup. La Verne took second overall only finishing behind No. 8 Guilford.
Pitiluk Phanomchai led the way for the Leopards taking fourth individually.
The race for the SCIAC title will be extremely competitive this year with four SCIAC teams currently ranked. No. 11 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, No. 17 Cal Lutheran, and No. 22 Redlands all make the list.
"We've got some work to do to continue to get better," said Head Coach Eric Riehle. "The conference is as good as I've ever seen it from top to bottom, so we're gonna have to play great golf the next five rounds to give us a chance to win."
The Leopards get back into conference action on April 7 when they compete at SCIAC No. 2 at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena. The SCIAC Championships start on April 22 at Los Serranos Golf Club in Chino Hills.
