The University of La Verne men's swimming and diving squad recorded five individual victories in a tri-meet with NAIA schools Azusa Pacific and Biola.
Originally scheduled as a home meet for Azusa Pacific, the site was changed to La Verne Aquatic Center because of a fire at the Cougars' home pool late in the week. All three teams took the schedule alteration in stride for a competitive meet.
Freshman Marc Okimura continued to impress with a pair of victories, winning both the 200 breaststroke and 400 individual medley. Okimura swam to a winning time of 2:20.16 in the breast while completing the 400 IM in 4:35.09.
Fellow frosh Adam Gray was also a double-winner in capturing both the 1 meter and 3 meter diving events. Gray registered a winning score of 257.90 in the 1 meter competition while earning a 199.75 total in the 3 meter event.
Leopard sophomore Matt Johnson tied for first place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.40. Johnson also placed behind Okimura in the 200 breast (2:37.66).
