Today was the final day of the SCIAC Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Occidental College at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool. The University of La Verne men's team is placed in sixth overall with a score of 271.5.
Marc Okimura made it to the finals in the 200-yard breaststroke and placed third, coming in at 2:06.67.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team, Matthew Johnson, Andrew Mackay, Okimura and Mark Wilson, placed seventh, coming in at 3:16.90.
Daniel Hargis placed first in the consolation finals, ninth overall, in the 200-yard backstroke, coming in at 1:59.23.
La Verne will say goodbye to seniors John Roche and Mark Wilson, but will return 14 other Leopards for the 2011-2012 season.
