Leopards Cap Weekend Meets With High Quality Performances

San Diego, CA - The University of La Verne men's track and field teams competed in various meets across Southern California over the weekend. The Leopards competed at San Marcos and Point Loma in different meets on Friday evening and Saturday.

There were many high-quality performances for the Leopards at the meets. Friday evening's meet provided perfect conditions for the runners to excel.

Jared Albaugh had a personal best in the 1500m, 4:01.46 and TK Berhe had a personal bestin the 10,000m.  Berhe's time of 29:52.97 establishes a new personal best and ULV School record, as well as the current #3 performance nationally for NCAA DIII. 

Saturday would see the Leopards with top performances in various events.  Several Leopards would have personal best; Jared Albaugh in the 800m, Hunter Bond in both the 100m and 200m, Joshua Collier in both ther 110m High Hurdles and 400m Hurdles, Kenny Davis in the Triple Jump, and Tyler Thomas and Jaden Figeroa both covering 400m of Point Loma real estate in personal best times.

With a total of 25 personal bests or seasonal bests, the Leo's find themselves well represented on the NCAA DIII national performance lists. 

Tyler Thomas: 400m - NCAA DIII #37, SCIAC #4

Jaden Figeroa: 400m - NCAA DII #38, SCIAC #5

TK Berhe:  10,000m - NCAA #3, SCIAC #1

Zachary Reid: 110m H.Hurdles – NCAA #7, SCIAC #1

Joshua Collier: 110m H.Hurdles – NCAA #11, SCIAC #3

Joshua Collier: 400m I.Hurdles – NCAA #6, SCIAC #2

4x400m Relay: NCAA #21 (J.Collier, I.Estrada, J.Figeroa, T.Thomas)

Kenny Davis: Triple Jump  - NCAA #7, SCIAC #1

 

The Leo's return to action next Saturday at SCIAC #2, at Redlands as the will be competing against Redlands, Whittier and Cal Lutheran.
