CLAREMONT, CA - The women's track & field team wrapped up their dual meet schedule with SCIAC #3 at CMS on Saturday. The Leos went 1-2 in the meet. They beat Caltech 81-49 and lost to CMS 130-32 and to Whittier 80-53.
Mira Juncaj finished second in two events. She was second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.13 and second in the triple jump with a mark of 33-1.
There were 18 personal or seasonal bests in the meet.
In the 100 meters, Dawson Bell (12.65), Naomi Jackson (13.19), Valentina Limon (14.07), Emily Hernandez (14.71) and Lydia Torres (15.97) all ran personal bests. The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Jazzlyn Johnson, Tamia Brown, Kelly Sanchez and Bell ran a season best by over half a second with a time of 49.92.
Peyton Carrera ran a lifetime best in the 800 meters with a time of 2:28.95. Madison Bravo ran personal bests in both the 800 and 1500 meters with times of 2:47.03 and 5:16.26. Andrea Camacho ran a personal best in the 1500 meters (5:14.29) and a seasonal best in the 800 meters (2:39.75). Destiny Espinoza also ran a personal best in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:40.35.
Seasonal bests in the field events were achieved by Ha'ani Untalan in the high jump (4-11.5), Devin Spreeman in the pole vault (9-1), Alexandra Boutte in both the shot put (29-6) and javelin throw (81-3) and Alyssa Galaviz (85-9) and Kristal Sullivan (74-1) in the hammer throw.
The team will return to action on April 29-30 when they host the SCIAC Championships.
