The University of La Verne fell in three games to California Lutheran Friday night by scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-16 in SCIAC action Friday night at Gilbert Arena in Thousand Oaks.
The Regals hit a robust .383 for the match while limiting the Leopards to a .074 hitting percentage.
Cal Lutheran improves to 7-3 overall having won seven straight matches after opening the season with three defeats. The Regals are 2-0 in conference play.
Allison Kerr lifted the Regals with a match-high 16 kills in 21 attacks for a .714 hitting percentage. Megan Thorpe added 13 kills. Jackie Russell dished out 34 assists in the three sets.
Anna Calmer totaled 7 kills to lead La Verne while Randi Taylor-Toomay chipped in with 5 kills. Freshman libero Morgan Donahue registered a match-high 14 digs.
La Verne (8-5, 1-2 SCIAC) has also been a team of streaks this season. After dropping three straight matches, the squad reeled off seven consecutive wins before suffering its second straight defeat.
The Leopards continue conference play Tuesday night as they travel to Pasadena to face the California Institute of Technology, now coached by former Leopard All-American Jodi Lindsay. Start time is 7:30 pm.
